Harvard Risk Management: a website and recruiting tools that save hours of copy and paste
We run the Harvard Risk Management website and build the internal tools their recruiting team uses to move candidate data out of job boards and into spreadsheets.
Where this stands
Live. Summit Studio supports the website and keeps building and maintaining the recruiting tools as the job boards change.
The people using these tools are recruiters, not engineers. They are in the middle of a task in a job board portal and need to start an export without stopping to learn anything.
Discovery
Each job board structures and limits its data differently, so every source needed its own extractor while still producing the same spreadsheet at the end.
Key Takeaway
The best internal tool is one button. If it needs a manual, nobody will use it.
The Solution
A Chrome extension reads a saved candidate folder, pulls the contact details, shows clear progress, and hands back an XLSX file. There are no settings and nothing to configure.
A desktop exporter does the same job for a second job board, packaged as a standalone executable so the team never has to install Python.
Alongside the tools, we support the company website so the team has one partner for its web presence and its internal software.
Looking Forward
This is an ongoing relationship rather than a one-off project.
- Keeping the extractors working as the job boards change their pages and limits
- Adding sources as the recruiting team needs them
- Ongoing website updates and maintenance
Small tools, kept working, are worth more than big ones that break.
Does your team copy and paste for hours every week?
We build the small internal tools that hand that time back.
